Barbara Kahn - Owner

Barbara began her professional career educating pet owners on proper care of their animals in 1967 as a staff member and later contributing editor with Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy Magazines. When the editorial offices moved to California, Barbara secured a position as Assistant to the Director of the Bide-A-Wee Animal Shelter in New York City.

Observing that dogs were constantly being returned to the shelter because of recurring behavior problems, she encouraged the shelter’s management to send her to dog training school to learn how to solve the dogs’ problems. It was then, in 1969, that she attended a full-time six-week course on dog training at Capt. Haggerty’s School for Dogs in The Bronx, New York.

She spent the next 25 years as a veterinary nurse, technician, and hospital administrator in several high-volume practices in South Jersey and Philadelphia. During this period, she continued to offer clients solutions to behavioral and training problems part-time.

Barbara is currently a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is one of a handful of obedience instructors in South Jersey to have passed the rigorous testing procedure to become a member of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. Over the years, she has taught many puppy classes for Evesham Township and was a contributing editor to The Trend Newspaper, where her column, “The Wonder of Dogs,” appeared weekly.

She enjoys the company of her six dogs: three Silken Windhounds, Isaiah, Gideon, and Adina, and three rescues: Libby, Louisa, and Naomi.

Marci Lynne - Instructor

Marci’s career in dogs began after attending a seminar at the University of Guelph in Canada on “How Dogs Learn” in 1992. She began her professional career at WonderDogs shortly after the school opened and has been the store manager for many years.

During the past few years, Marci has developed an intense interest in the sport of racing, which began with a friend’s Pharaoh Hounds, and has since done lure coursing, straight and oval racing with the Pharaohs and her own Whippet, Dave.

After years of assisting in classes, Marci has become a true expert in dog behavior and training and is now instructing classes of her own.

Marci brings her Whippet, Bob, to work everyday where he serves as our goodwill ambassador.

Sally Lenhart - Instructor

Sally began with a solid foundation after having completed an extensive online course in motivational dog training. She began observing classes at WonderDogs in 2003. This gave her the hands-on knowledge she needed to begin team-teaching with us while continuing to learn from our more experienced instructors.

Although her full-time career was in an unrelated field, the communication skills, patience, and understanding that are required in that field are also vital to conducting classes for pet dogs and their families. Sally finds that helping families form a lasting bond with their dogs and develop a better understanding of how dogs learn, how they perceive the world, and how their behavior can be improved is an enjoyable and extremely gratifying experience. A true dog lover, Sally approaches her teaching with humor, dedication, and skill. Lives with husband, Sam, and rescue dog, Franklin.

Wonder Dog Training - West Berlin, NJ - A photo of Instructor Danielle Paciocco with two dogs

Danielle Paciocco - Instructor & Office Support

Danielle’s love of dogs began when she was just a little girl when her family brought home their first dog, Beau, a large yellow Labrador. Beau taught Danielle how much fun life can be with a dog in it. Her second dog, Riley, another yellow lab, came into her life years later. Danielle’s first dog training experience materialized through a grade school science fair experiment where she taught Riley how to “spell” his name (or just bark after each letter as she spelled his name). A close relative who trains dogs professionally then assisted her in teaching Riley basic obedience techniques, which sparked an interest in dog training that has continued to grow ever since.

Although Danielle pursued other career interests through her college days, dog training was always in the back of her mind. It wasn’t until Danielle brought home her first Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Hooper, that it became clear dog training was what she wanted to pursue professionally. She began working as an Accredited Pet Trainer at a big box store in October 2021 while attending Animal Behavior College. During this period, she volunteered at the Animal Welfare Association to gain experience with a variety of breeds, ages, and backgrounds while earning her degree. She graduated as a Certified Dog Trainer in September 2022.

Danielle, along with her husband, son, and Hooper, welcomed a second Bernese Mountain Dog, Brody, into the family. Brody, having been a rescue with a difficult background, has taught Danielle how to manage and work with fearful dogs.

Danielle is truly a people person, but as much as she loves people, she loves dogs more. She is passionate about helping pet parents strengthen the bond between themselves and their dogs through positive reinforcement and enrichment.

Martha Windisch - Nose Work Instructor

Martha Windisch CPDT-KA CNWI has been involved in training dogs for over 30 years. She currently has four Golden Retrievers - Melt, Spring, Dreamt and Adda. She competes with/trains her Goldens in obedience, hunt tests, tracking and K9 Nose Work/Scent Work. Her various Goldens through the years have earned hunt test titles up to MH, obedience titles including UDX and 98 OTCH points, tracking titles including TDX, rally
titles up to RE, and agility titles up to AX and AXJ.

In 2010, soon after the sport of K9 Nose Work (www.k9nosework.com) came to the east coast, Martha attended an NACSW Introduction to K9 Nose Work seminar. She has since attended additional K9 Nose Work seminars and instructor training courses, attended Nose Work classes with Certified Nose Work Instructors (CNWI), volunteered at many Nose Work Trials including the first K9 Nose Work Trial held in New Jersey and two National Invitational Trials, passed ORT, attended several week-long Nose Work camps, and attained the designation of Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) through NACSW.

Martha’s discovery of the powerful canine nose started early with a childhood game of teaching her shepherd-collie mixes to follow looping hot dog trails to a piece of hidden hot dog.  While in graduate school, in her limited spare time, she learned how to teach her Golden Retriever AKC tracking, eventually earning TD and TDX titles. She also has trained with two friends who each train German Shepherd Dogs; one for search and rescue and the other for cadaver searches.

Martha started teaching K9 Nose Work because she enjoys helping students discover the new sport/activity with their dogs. She also enjoys helping students learn to observe their dogs’ body language while finding hidden scent. She likes that Nose Work requires no
prerequisite training, can be played either for fun or with the goal of competing in trials, is good for dogs of any age, dogs that need to build confidence, and for dogs that need an energy outlet.

Wonder Dog Training - West Berlin, NJ - A photo of Instructor Buck Brown with a dog

Buck Brown - Reactive Rovers & Finishing School Instructor

When Buck began owning pet dogs in the late 1950s, his only goal was to have dogs that displayed good house manners and came when they were called. As his desire to understand more about dog behavior grew, along with an equally strong desire to help owners who seemed to have difficulties with their dogs, Buck began an intense program to educate himself using books, videos, and seminars to increase his knowledge and expertise.

He tried to enroll his first Fila Brasiliero in an obedience class only to find that the instructor, wary of this large, fiercely protective breed, would not allow the dog in the class. Forced to utilize trainers specializing in forceful methods, Buck learned how to get this dynamic dog under control during both normal and stressful situations. All the while, he was continuing to increase his dog training expertise.

He began assisting in basic obedience classes that used positive reinforcement training, and this kindler, gentler method greatly appealed to him. After assisting for years, Buck took a test to become a full-charge instructor at Petco in Bensalem, PA, and he continues his classes there to this day. Buck has also continued through seminars, helping at dog shows and various dog-related events, and doing Canine Good Citizen to remain involved, active, and up-to-date in the care and training of dogs.

His goal as an instructor at WonderDogs is to help owners live in harmony with their dogs, to increase their understanding of their canine companions, and to improve their relationships with and enjoyment of these wonderful animals. He lives with his wife, Patty, and rescue dog, Frankie.

She began her show-handling journey here at WonderDogs under the instructional guidance of Carole Richards. In 2010, the AKC formally recognized Leonberger as part of the Working Group, and in 2013, she earned her first AKC championship title as an owner-handler. In 2017, she began private instruction under the guidance of professional handler Ryan Platt and elevated her success to a new level. Wonder Dog Training - West Berlin, NJ - A photo of Instructor Janice Campbell with a cute dog

Janice Campbell - Therapy Dog Prep Instructor

Like many young girls, Janice developed a love of ponies. Janice became an avid equestrian, spending 16 years training and competing in show horses. She learned all there was to know about horse husbandry and the joy of riding. She spent years in the ring competing and was selected to ride on the U.S. Junior Olympic Equestrian Team.

In 2004, Janice adopted Ellie, a full-of-life (gross understatement) Golden Retriever who, because of her energy, had been through 4 homes before finding the right one. Together they started taking WonderDogs classes, which included Terrible Teens, rally, agility, and canine musical freestyle. Janice’s passion for canine training and bringing out the best in dogs fully emerged.

Professionally, Janice started as a veterinary technician and then started her own professional pet-sitting business 28 years ago. Her career for the past 18 years has been in the mental health field. One of her areas of expertise is providing trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy to children in residential group homes with her canine partners. Her combined interest in helping others and working with dogs led her to Tri-State Canine Response Team, where she serves as President and Co-Founder. Additionally, Janice is certified in animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted crisis response and is a Disaster Relief Crisis Counselor for the State of NJ.

She is dedicated to giving back by utilizing her professional expertise and knowledge of the healing power of dogs to help others.
